The main way of communicating just now is through facebook but they intend to try get a web site up and running shortly:

Floreat Athena FC has long had a warm association with the Western Australian bears hailing back to the days of VHS recordings being express mailed and viewed days and often weeks latter! Floreat Athena FC is a high profile WA football club with arguably one of the better football venues in WA.

The venue boasts a central city based location and it is certainly popular with members including boasting two large screens that are ideal for viewing televised football. The main hall accommodates around 400 people and the smaller sports bar approx 100 pax standing. The beer is always cold and complimentary catering is also provided to Rangers supporters for the big matches.

E-mail Print PDF

The ORSA 2011 AGM will soon be upon us with the event scheduled for weekend of 25-27th February 2011.

Northern Beaches, Sydney are our gracious hosts and a full events program is now well advanced. We need to quickly provide the NBRSC with indicative numbers of interstate guests as the venue for the Saturday night dinner dance/sportsman dinner only holds a limited number (approx 100) and tickets may need to be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The ORSA committee have now finalised an appearance by the legend that is John 'Bomber' Brown and this will give a wee boost to our annual get together and to help kick off the celebrations as the JBLRSC Adelaide reach 10 years follow follow-ing! The program and costs for the proposed events are as follows:

  • Friday 25th 8am - Long Reef Links Golf $45 per person (club/cart hire extra)
  • Friday 25th 5-6pm - Barefoot Bowls (bowls/food combo) $20 per person
  • Saturday 26th AGM - 11am Harbord Bowling Club - Free
  • Saturday 26th Dinner Dance/Sportsmans Dinner including 2 course meal and band - $75 per person ORSA members/$85 non-ORSA members
  • Sunday 27th - Farewell beers at Bowling club - Free

Gold Coast and Melbourne CBD bear news

E-mail Print PDF
This is just a wee plug for a couple of new venues who will be putting on a wee bit of a night this Sunday for the Rangers v Celtic game. Firstly, ORSA’s newest club, the Melbourne City Loyal, will be cheering on our heroes in red, white and blue at the Imperial Hotel at the east end of Bourke Street. This is a bluenose only venue for all games this season. For further details visit http://melbournecityloyalrsc.webs.com/aboutus.htm On the Gold Coast, there are a bunch of lads just starting to find their feet and check the interest in getting together on a regular basis locally. The Rangers v Celtic game will be shown live at the Runaway Bay Soccer Club this Sunday 24th October. The club will be open from 6.00pm and there will be some free chuck on the night plus the bears will be running a wee sweepstake with some smart prizes, with one or two that are kindly donated courtesy of Brisbane RSC. If you are in the area please feel free to pop along. The Runaway Bay Soccer Club can be found on Lae Dr, Runaway Bay QLD 4216 or you can call them for directions on (07) 5537 3644. Good luck to both set of bears and hope you get a good turnout on the night. For other cities and venues, visit the ‘About ORSA’ page for contact details of the website.
